Canopsis V22.10 was released yesterday! It offers a host of new features such as maps and pattern ergonomics. Join us in discovering this autumnal version 🍂

New versioning system

You can tell from the name alone: the versioning system has been redesigned and is now presented in chronological form.

To enable better anticipation of releases and optimize our client version management, we are also introducing a new release rhythm: 2 major releases per year, one in April and one in October.

New technical features in Canopsis V22.10

Introducing Red Hat 8 support

With CentOS 7 on the way out, we’ve refocused on a secure system that will last: Red Hat 8 and, more generally, all EL8 systems.

Python V2 stack depreciation

We migrated almost the entire Python stack to Go. To date, only one element remains in Python 2: the SNMP module. It will be ported to Python 3 in the first half of 2024.

New features in Canopsis V22.10

New type of remediation instruction: Simplified manual

The simplified manual guideline is a remediation whose initiative is triggered by a user, but which only consists of automated jobs (without human intervention).

Two new types of enrichment: MongoDB collection and on-the-fly (API)

Events can be enriched using third-party tools:

By MongoDB collection

While MongoDB collection was already possible via a plugin, Canopsis V22.10 now offers a native implementation.

A new function also lets you use regular expressions to select data from MongoDB collections.

By API responding in JSON format / on-the-fly

The form for defining API calls is identical to the webhooks’ one.

Event filter : Added calendar and redesign pattern ergonomics

Calendar for application of the rules

Eventfilter rules (drop, enrich) can be executed according to a schedule.

Pattern ergonomics for filter creation

You’ve been eagerly awaiting it: filter autofill in Canopsis is finally here!

Previously, setting up a filter required a good knowledge of the different attributes available for each type of object. You needed to know everything about an entity or alarm to create a filter: name, links with other entities and components…

Today, filter input forms automatically propose pre-filled values.

Attribute auto-completion

Value auto-completion

You can also save filters in a library and reuse them wherever you like.

The new modules

Tags: a simplified alarm list with Canopsis V22.10

With this new feature, you can classify and display your alarms according to predefined labels. This means being able to process tags from data sources.

Viewing / sorting tags in the alarm list

Update in progress: You will soon be able to manage tags directly in Canopsis (creation, editing, affection…)

Cartography: Canopsis V22.10 star module

Many of our clients have asked for it, and Canopsis V22.10 has made it a reality! The Cartography module lets you model a system as :

An application map:

Application process faulty

Flowchart

Mermaid

Dependency trees

A geagraphical map :

Regional distribution of alarms in the logistics perimeter or degraded response time in a given region

Component status is shown by a colored dot or an icon from the libraries.

When the number of components to be displayed in a zone is too large, groupings are made to facilitate drill-down.
