Released at the end of July, the new version of the Open Source hypervision solution offers a number of new features: Webhook Zabbix, Zerolog, canopsis.toml configuration overload… As you can see, Canopsis V4.6 is a resolutely technical version! Want to know more? We’ll take you on a tour 🚀

The Zabbix connector

Zabbix and Canopsis V4.6 now communicate directly. Freed from the intermediary between the two actors, the interconnection is more reliable!

By using the webhooks integrated into Zabbix, we are also using a native, functional and supported functionality of the monitoring tool.

Finally, the configuration is now done from the Zabbix web interface. No more command line configuration files and third party programs!

Zerolog in Canopsis V4.6

Zerolog is a system that allows you to customize your logs in terms of format (display) and destination (file, Elastic…). It is therefore possible to customize the logs as desired to make them easier to read and examine.

Overloading the canopsis.toml configuration

With this toml configuration override, you can log your configuration customizations in a dedicated file.

This feature reduces the risk of errors during configuration, while simplifying the reading of customizations. You will then have the guarantee of a configuration always up to date, from version to version.

Other new features in Canopsis V4.6

We continue the adoption of the GO language within Canopsis with this tool for visualizing raw messages (before any processing). Don’t worry, it’s similar to the one in Python!

It is now possible to integrate custom scripts in Canopsis. This advance allows the use of statistical tools such as TagCommander, Matomo and Google Analytics.

With this option, you will be able to easily perform “mass” actions for all the commands available in the Service Weather module (acknowledgement, ticket declaration…) and save time on the processing of your alarms.

Faithful to the values of Free and Open Source software, we are committed to developing our community version. That’s why all the new features of Canopsis v4.6 are available on Community and Pro Edition!
