We introduced you to scheduled actions in the previous article, but that’s far from being the only innovation in Canopsis 4.2! This latest update includes a new export feature and improved correlation.

What are the benefits and practical applications? That’s what we’re going to see now.

The Export feature in Canopsis 4.2

Here’s how you can sum up the Export feature. You can now export the contents of alarm lists and thecontext explorer in CSV format. Whether for counting, reporting or archiving… Now it’s up to you to carry out a posteriori analyses on third-party tools for exploitation purposes!

This feature can be accessed via the graphical interface (see screenshot below) or via the API (programming option 😉).

Correlation enhancement with Canopsis 4.2

Correlation can be defined as the ability to group alarms according to objective criteria.

Launched in May 2020 with version 3.40, this exclusive Canopsis Pro Edition makes it possible to group together alarms with the same cause, thereby reducing the number of alarms in bins.

Canopsis V4.2 adds not one, but two new features!

#1 Enhanced value paths

A correlation rule can now integrate several value paths. This is equivalent to adding several dimensions to the rule, for even greater granularity and relevance in raising alarms.

Rule with 2 value paths

#2 Creation of a new ratio calculation methodology

For the rules concerned, you can now choose between the “classic” rule and the “4.2” rule, which enables a more refined analysis thanks to the customization of the number of entities included in the calculation. Ideal for users in environments without a repository, who can then obtain relevant ratios on rule types!

Possibility of adding an entity model in Canopsis

For the past 10 years, Canopsis has been breaking the hypervision mould by offering an all-inclusive package (including support and maintenance) with a simple, attractive pricing system.

True to its Open Source philosophy, Canopsis 4.2 continues to enhance its community version! While Correlation remains a Canopsis Pro Edition exclusive, the Export feature is available on both editions: Pro and Open Core!
